The Permanent Principle

A beautifully written piece about enlightenment:

Even though you try to call it thus, it quickly changes. At the place where knowledge fails to reach, it not should be talked about. Here: Is there something to penetrate.

This comes from a koan about not getting attached to being enlightened, for that too is not the real thing. In our work, we should proceed with the knowledge that any conscious need or tendency to grasp on to being better than, or superior than is flawed. The original permanent nature, true reality, is constantly moving. If you are attached to being one thing, look out that is a sign of the small mind / ego.  When the small mind / ego is present that is trouble. How fixed are your ideas about who you are, and what that justifies in relationship to the world?
